【摘要】:Thistestmethoddeterminesthevolatileorganiccontentofanelectricalinsulatingvarnish.Itutilizesaprocedurewheredishescontainingaknownamountofvarnisharebakedandtheamountofvolatileorganiccompoundismeasured.Calculationsareperformedtoexpressthising/Lorlb/gal.Thistestmethodisapplicabletoalltypesofvarnishes.However,waterbornevarnisheswhilebakedunderthesameconditionsneedtohavewatercontentdeterminedandcalculationsperformedinaccordancewithPracticeD3960.Duringthecureofelectricalinsulatingvarnishessomeorganicmaterialisvolatilized.Adeterminationoftheamountthatisvolatilizedisusefulforestimatingtheamountofcuredvarnishonelectricalunitsandvolatileorganicemissionsfromamanufacturingfacility.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheamountofvolatileorganiccompoundsemittedduringcureofelectricalinsulatingvarnishes.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoinch-poundunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SeeSection7forspecificprecautions.
